Father's Day

I feel very blessed that my kids have such a terrific dad. It is fun to watch them charge at him when he walks in the door after a long day at work and he drops everything for them. I honestly can't imagine not having him around and it's sad to know that there are some kids who don't get to experience having a daddy come home from work to greet them like Abbie and Bryce have.

I'm gunna be an aunty!!!!!!

Jeff and Helene stopped by our house on Monday to tell us the news! I am so excited for them. The due date is in January and I am going to stock up on candy now!!! What comes around goes around and I am going to have LOADS of fun corrupting that kid! My luck.... they won't let their kid around me! I sure hope Helene doesn't mind me broadcasting this! It sure will be nice to have a baby around again and I have to promise Jeff and Helene that I won't let Bryce teach their kid any bad habits! Congrats you two!

Off Roadin'

As sad as I have to say this, this was my first time at Silver Lake Dunes. The first trip up, for me, was a white knuckle grip until we exited the dunes. The second time up??? Well, was a little better for me! I think the worst was always wondering what was on the other side of the hill and was our truck going to get damaged in the process. I ended up enjoying myself and I look forward to going again! I have been teasing my dad that the flag and mount that we bought can easily mount to the front of his Z71 and I keep telling him that his truck can take the dunes. If any of you know my dad, you too would know that he was about to have a heart attack just listening to me. His purty white chevy truck won't be seeing the dunes as long as my dad owns it!
Wow, how young does the state hand out drivers license these days? Sad to say, Bryce could probably drive better than some of those individuals in the dunes could.

Does insurance cover stupidity?

Okay, so we all know that there is some bad drivers out there and some even manage to make it in the dunes! On Friday AND Saturday, there were at least a half dozen trucks each day hung up or shall I say "tetering" on the top of test hill. With the winds that we got it caused a nice crest at the top causing all the trucks, with longer wheel bases, to get hung up. Then there is the third picture, we couldn't figure out how in the world that guy managed to back his truck/SUV into the trees! Maybe these guys will be future Darwin Award candidates!

Chevy power?? Nope, Ford V10!!

On Friday, we decided to tour around in the dunes for a bit. Heading up the first hill, the hubs on Ben's truck weren't locking into four wheel drive so his front tires were pushing the sand causing his rear tires to get buried. Our Chevy got hooked up to Ben's truck and to much disappointment, we were unable to pull him out and get him up the hill. I would've been in my glory if our chevy would've pulled his truck out, but we had to move over and make way for another Ford to do the job. Oh well, at least OUR chevy made it up the hill the first time without any assistance!

Country Dairy

Ben and Sara found a brochure on Country Dairy and they have tours of their farm. On the tour, they showed us where they make the ice cream, cheese, and of course the milk. At times, we even had to wear beautiful hair nets! On the tour, we had the opportunity to pet calfs that were only a week old - and they even sucked on your thumb! They also have a nice restaurant that serves sandwiches and of course ice cream! Abbie and Bryce loved this tour and I have to admit, I enjoyed it too!

Poor Emma, looks like she is wearing a mosquito net instead of a hair net! What a trooper she is!!

I want to be a "haircutter" when I grow up!

Sara needed to start getting supper started, but was having a difficult time with Emma so she persuaded Abbie to watch her. Sara gave Abbie a bag of bows and told her to play with Emma. Well, this is what Abbie came up with! For the past year, Abbie has been telling me that she wants to be a "haircutter" when she grows up and it looks like she is getting some good practice!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy......

Ben took his boat along so they could get some fishing in up at Silver. He pulled his boat behind his fifth wheel, and let me tell you something about Ben.... if it has wheels, he can pull it :-)! Abbie really enjoyed getting the chance to fish on Silver Lake, she even caught some fish. Thanks Ben!

Is this MY daughter diggin' for worms???

Abbie and the Sun Fish that she caught, however, she refuses to eat it - honestly, I don't blame her! My theory is I don't eat anything that breathes/swims/lives underwater!

Sorry this turned out a little blurry, Brandon took this picture while fishin' on Silver Lake, with the dunes in the background.

Fun pictures from the campground

This past week, we camped at Silver Creek RV Resort by Silver Lake with our friends Ben, Sara, and Emma. This type of campground is my absolute favorite - no dirt! All the lots were paved and we had really nice grass for the kids to play in. The pool area was great and the playground was nice, but the only problem was is that it didn't have any baby swings. My parents are going to be camping here in July and I am counting down the days 'cuz I am taking the kids there to stay for the weekend.
Abbie and Bryce in the "big" pool.

It has been almost a year since Bryce has been in a pool and hasn't cried. We started him off in the kiddie pool and that didn't last long. He wanted to be in the big pool with the rest of the people, and Emma too :-)!

By the end of the week, Bryce has mastered the tucan and the motorcycle and he was just rockin' back and forth with no fear!

More pictures that I just found

We now have a new house going up next to us and about a month ago, the new neighbor was doing some excavating. I ended up proping Bryce up by the window, in the laundry room, and he stayed there for what seemed like hours just watching the tractor going back and forth. It wasn't entertaining for me, but I sure did get a lot of cleaning done that morning!

Brandon took this picture of the three of us on Mother's Day and I forgot to post it. The month of May was caotic of us and I am trying to get caught up on things now.

Emma and her two boyfriends!

I just found this picture and I had to post it. Hmmm, Bryce or Ben??? I guess this is the million dollar question now! This is an ongoing joke between our family and two other families that we are really close with. Ben and Sara have the prize and the joke is which boy is "manly" enough for Emma! A month ago, we had those families over, to watch a race, and the two boys were all over her! However, I honestly believe she can "take" them both and the boys will be left in the dust!

Batter UP!

Every summer consists of ballgames for our family. Usually it is because of me and I do miss playing.......somewhat. Last year, Abbie started playing with a tee and I was on a co-ed league, which made life way too busy. So this year, I decided to hang up my own cleats and be the mom sitting by the dugout and maybe coaching Abbie, from the sidelines, just a little too much :-0. I do have to admit, I enjoy going to the games - this year more so than last! It is MUCH more fun watching a game with a pitching machine than watching a Tee ball game :-)! Abbie is now done with softball for the year and I will admit that I am going to miss not going to any of her games now. Brandon was the coach for Abbie's team so it was quite fun, for me, getting the girls "geared" up for batting and then explaining where their position is located when fielding.

If you ask Abbie, she will probably tell you that she is sick of me telling her to keep her elbow up and to keep her eye on the ball!

Are you sure I can't steal bases yet?

Last Day - now an official 2nd grader!

The way my summer is starting to look I figured I'd better post these now BEFORE school starts in the fall :-)! Abbie had a hard last day, her good friend has moved to North Carolina and both girls were taking it quite hard. Things quickly changed when Alexis called and the two got together to play this past weekend! Abbie is also having a hard time because she just loved Miss Cummings. I don't know if Abbie will ever have another teacher like her again in her future school days.

Abbie and Miss Cummings

Eventhough the day was cloudy and on the chilly side, Miss Cummings thought ahead and had visors for all the kids to decorate in case the day was going to be warm and sunny.

Since a variety of sicknesses were going around, Miss Cummings had all of the kids clean their desk from top to bottom to get rid of the germies! Bryce even got into it! He just loves Derek, one of Abbie's classmates. Everytime we visit school, he always sits by Derek.

With a few hundred kids running around, on the playground for the last day carnival, the school decided to have each grade in a different color so the teachers can keep better track of them! All 1st graders had to wear blue. That was very difficult for me to find, I had to dig for a blue shirt for Abbie since her favorite color is pink! This is the last 1st Grade Class of 2008 picture that was taken. Kinda bittersweet - my little girl is growning up!

What Year do I belong in????

You Belong in 1995

With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good!

I found this on my cousin, Kim's, blog so I hope she doesn't mind me copying her! I had to try it out, just out of curiousity and well, this sure does fit me to a tee!

What Princess Are You?

You are Mulan!

Strong and Spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are a very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

I've been tagged!

Well, my cousin Kim tagged me 'cuz she said that I haven't posted in a while. Sorry 'bout that Kim! Guess I have to tell you 5 things about me that you might not know. Here it goes!

1.) I broke my arm in early elemetary. Some of you might remember me being a runt. I was on my cousins trampoline and we were playing the game popcorn. Well, I was the popcorn and my cousins wanted to see how high I could "pop!"

2.) When I eat at Mc Donalds I am VERY predictable. I always have a #2 cheeseburger value meal - minus the cheese and onion. Could it kill them to have a hamburger value meal?

3.) I very seldom leave the house to just drive somewhere. I am getting very content just staying home, which is a complete 180 degree from what I use to be like!

4.) One of my ultimate favorite thing to do is to camp at a race track! I just LOVE to kick back, relax, and watch all of the idiots! Some give us really good laughs!

5.) I LOVE to camp with Brandon and the kids. It sure is a busy time keeping up with Bryce, but it sure pays off to see the look on their faces when we hook up the trailer. Since the spring time is busy it is good to get away and have a simple life vacation. Okay, well my simple may be different than others. I don't rough it at all! We have a trailer with ALL the amentities of home.

I guess now I have to tag someone. Well, I don't know how frequently these two people look at my blog, but I am going to tag Robyn and Becky. Sorry Becky, I know Kim tagged you but I am going to double tag you! Maybe that means you have to tell us 10 things about you :-)!
